Questions.
What is APROXITY?
A small physical object with NFC and a QR code. It opens one permanent page that you control — what it says, who can reach you through it, and what stays private.
Do visitors need an app?
No. A tap (NFC) or the phone camera (QR) opens the page in the browser. No app, no account, no login.
How does NFC work?
Most current phones read NFC when unlocked and held close. The tag stores only the object's APROXITY link — never any personal data.
What if NFC fails?
Scan the QR code. It opens exactly the same page.
Why QR?
Not every phone reads NFC, and some surfaces — metal especially — interfere with it. QR is the universal fallback.
What is public?
Only what you mark public. Every field starts hidden. Your email and phone number are never shown; messages are relayed to you.
Can I change it later?
Any time — the text, the visibility, the actions, even the mode. The NFC/QR link never changes.
What if I sell or lose the object?
Lost: mark it lost and its page asks finders to message you. Selling: contact support and we reset it for its next owner.
Can one account own many?
Yes. Each object has its own mode, page, actions and privacy settings.
How does Lost + Found work?
The page asks “Found this object?”. The finder sends you a message and, if they want, a way to reply — you get it by email and in your inbox without revealing where you live.
Does it work on a car?
Vehicle mode sends one-tap signals like “Lights are on”. NFC can struggle near metal, so place the object behind glass rather than on bodywork — the QR code works either way.
What about spam?
Messages are rate-limited and bot-filtered. You can block a sender or report a message, and senders never learn your contact details.
